“My work invites into a world of quiet contemplation and wonder.”

For over two decades, Florian Roeper has built bespoke furniture for the world’s most demanding clients — Louis Vuitton, Dior, AD100 designers. But it’s art that gives him the freedom required to pursue unexpected finishes and groundbreaking technique. His mixed media artworks treat the canvas not as a flat surface but as a sculptural, immersive presence, layering precious metal leaf, resin, wood, and lacquer into minimalist compositions that evoke abstract planetary landscapes and luminous other worlds.
Born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1977, Roeper’s sensibility draws from a life lived across cultures — Italian Renaissance gilding, Japanese aesthetics absorbed in childhood, the audacious precision of Jeff Koons. Rooted in a BFA in Furniture and Sculpture from California College of the Arts, his practice has always placed process and materials at the center. At its core, the work is about creating space, physically and emotionally. In a world saturated with noise, these pieces are an invitation to recenter and slow down.
